The golden hour – approximately one hour before sunset – provides the most flattering natural light. Downtown settings truly have so much to offer for spring family photo sessions. Green fills up the background and the sun stays up a little longer, giving us that sweet sunset and dusk lighting. Playing with textures and shapes means your session will immediately have a little extra interest.

Big Spring Park offers waterways, fountains, a cute bridge, shady walkways, and open green spaces, all right in the heart of Huntsville.

Pro Tip: If you have little ones, feeding the ducks is always a great way to get them involved AND take adorable pictures.

The Overlook at Blevin's Gap

This is the perfect spot if you're looking for vast gorgeous views. Stunning lighting and beautiful foliage are just a few reasons to choose this spot for your family session.

With clear walking paths and only a few hundred feet to walk to see this stunning vista, photos like this are available to anyone in Huntsville.

Go Play at Haye's Nature Preserve

Huntsville's favorite place to frolic in a field.

I'm not kidding. This location is absolutely dreamy, complete with a river, beautiful bridges, fields, and breath-taking sunsets. 

One of the best features of Haye's is how kid-friendly it is. Once we walk back to the open fields, they can run and play freely which makes for gorgeous carefree photos.
